Privacy Policy
In short: PiP Livre does not collect, sell or share any personal data. It makes no network requests. The only thing it saves is the list of websites you choose in the extension.
Data the extension stores
PiP Livre saves one piece of information: the list of website domains where you want the Picture-in-Picture button to appear, such as netflix.com. You add and remove these sites yourself in the extension's popup.
This list is kept with the browser's own chrome.storage.sync storage. If you are signed in to your browser with sync turned on, your browser may sync the list between your own devices. The developer of PiP Livre never receives it.
Data the extension does not collect
- No personal information, such as your name, email address or account details.
- No browsing history, page content, form data, passwords or cookies.
- No information about the videos you watch.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising identifiers or crash reports.
Why the extension needs its permissions
- Site access
- Granted only for netflix.com and crunchyroll.com by default, and for each site you add to the list, after your browser asks you to allow it. On those sites the extension shows its PiP button over videos. The script only checks whether the mouse is over a video. It does not read or change page content. Removing a site from the list gives its access back.
- activeTab
- Gives temporary access to the current tab only when you press the shortcut (Alt+Shift+P) or click "Open PiP in this tab", so Picture-in-Picture also works on sites outside your list.
- scripting
- Opens Picture-in-Picture in the current tab when you ask, and shows the PiP button on the sites in your list.
- storage
- Saves your list of websites, as described above.
Sharing with third parties
PiP Livre does not send data to the developer or to anyone else. It contains no third-party code and loads nothing from the internet. Picture-in-Picture windows are created by your browser's built-in feature.
Removing your data
You can remove any site from the list in the extension's popup. Uninstalling the extension deletes the list from your browser.
Changes to this policy
If the way PiP Livre handles data ever changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change before the new version of the extension is published.
